Union Representative Election
North Island Students’ Union (NISU) is an independent student organisation.
Run by students, for students, each year NISU seeks up to 25 students returning to NIC to run as Union Representatives (Union Reps).
Union Representatives contribute to the Union and are eligible for paid opportunities.
Union Representatives work with the Board of Directors and Union staff to support events, further campaigns, promote Union services, attend committee meetings, and connect with students from across the province.
Union Representatives develop leadership skills, make connections, and participate in their Union.
Great Student Involvement
25 students came forward, resulting in the best election NISU has seen in over 9 years!
It’s so wonderful that so many students have shown an interest in engaging with NISU. For students who don’t have the capacity or interest to work with your Union, rest assured that elected students are using their voices to amplify the student experience at North Island College, to all levels of government, and in the media, fighting for equal access to affordable and quality education in BC.
The term for Union Reps is April 1, 2024 – April 30, 2025 and from these 25 students up to six will be elected to the Board of Directors at the April 26 General Meeting. All students are welcome to attend the General Meeting, email theoffice@nisu.ca for information and Zoom link.
