December marks the wrapping up of the fall semester. Projects and papers are due, exams are scheduled. Best wishes you are able to take care of yourself during this time and able to put your best foot forward. December 5 is the last day of classes and the exam period is December 7 – 19. The college will be closed December 25 – January 1. NISU will be closed December 22 – January 2. We wish you a joyful holiday season.

NISU has partnered with NICs Senior Leadership team and Student Life to host End of Term Celebrations. The Courtenay and Campbell River events happened the last week of November and Port Alberni’s is Monday, December 4. Join us for chili lunch and chat with members of NIC’s Board of Governors and Presidential office as well as NISU Board of Directors, 11:30 – 1:30 in the Roger Street Cafeteria space.
December 5, students at Mixalakwila campus (Port Hardy) can join Union Representative Bella Mackenzie to celebrate the end of term and start of the holiday season with hot chocolate, cookies and gift tag making. 1:00 – 3:00
December 6, is the last Social Night of the year. Join in Tyee Hall Student Lounge for hot drinks, snacks and games as well as holiday craft. Nintendo Switch available, as well as board and card games. Supplies available to make pomanders, which are clove studded oranges as well as paper snowflakes. 4:00 – 7:00

Meetings:
December 12, is our last Committee of the Whole for the year, in Komoux Hall Boardroom. We will be providing an update to our service delivery and plans for the start of the winter semester. All students are welcome to attend, Committee of the Wholes are less formal than our Board of Directors meetings and all students are able to contribute to the discussions.
